PROGRAM OVERVIEW: 8:30 Check-in open, 9:30 Program, 10:00 Start of Walk, 11:30 Awards Ceremony

Dragonslayer Seattle is a non-competitive community walk held to honor sarcoma angels, patients, and survivors; and to raise money to fund the programs and mission of Northwest Sarcoma Foundation. An equally important purpose of Dragonslayer Seattle is to provide those affected by sarcoma with a gathering that is heartwarming and encouraging, and helps people feel supported and less isolated.

Dragonslayer Seattle is for individuals and teams. Many people create a team and invite others to join them for the walk and in their fundraising efforts, while others fund-raise and register individually.

Virtual walker registration is strongly encouraged if you cannot attend in person. You can still participate as part of a team or individually, and your participation will show support for those affected by sarcoma cancer and increase awareness in whatever area you walk.

4/4/2017 Special Announcement!

Dragonslayer Seattle is held at Green Lake Park and follows a solid-surface path to accommodate people on crutches, on scooters, or in wheelchairs. The race begins just outside Green Lake Community Center at 7201 East Green Lake Dr N.

There is an organized program which begins at 9:30am and is not to be missed. This program involves inspirational speakers and an opportunity to learn more about Northwest Sarcoma Foundation and the walk’s participants.

Event T-shirt and hoodies are available for purchase during registration until April 7th.  After April 7, shirts and hoodies will ONLY be available at the event while supplies last. If you have already registered, you can still order your shirt now by registering again, and selecting "Already Registered" for your participant type.

If you desire to run Dragonslayer Seattle you are welcome to do so, but it is not a certified or timed run. Bicycles are welcome if those riding them are considerate of walkers, and child riders are supervised by an adult. Dogs on leashes with responsible owners are not discouraged, but we ask that you take your pets and the expected crowd into consideration when deciding if they will accompany you.

A Kids’ tent with arts, crafts, and face painting will be provided. Dog watering stations will ensure your furry friends are also welcome.

Dragonslayer Seattle will take place rain or shine. A covered area is provided for registration, food, and gear purchase. You are welcome to bring pop-up tents if you would like a place to huddle in rainy weather.

Portable restrooms will be open and available.

Parking is very limited inside the park, however there is parking available on side streets.

Dragonslayer Seattle is well signed, just look for “Dragonslayer” or “Northwest Sarcoma Foundation” to find your way.

* The primary programs funded by Dragonslayer Seattle are need-based financial assistance, and research investments, and if you desire to direct your fundraising efforts to a particular area we are happy to accommodate that.
