9th Annual Portland Dragonslayer
Dragonslayers united to fight sarcoma at the 9th Annual Dragonslayer PDX Walk to End Sarcoma. Teams and supporters arrived in record numbers to fight and slay the sarcoma dragon. 665 Dragonslayers joined together to raise awareness, support and funding towards sarcoma.
Each team had an opportunity to share their inspiring stories. Many walk in memory of loved ones and to honor those currently fighting sarcoma. The crowd was especially moved by Jamie Quayle, of team Jiah’s Brigade, who spoke in memory of her amazing husband Jiah. Our “I am Dragonslayer” speaker, Trent Lukens, shared his brave journey and focused on having a community of support to battle the disease.
Teams united and walked the course to support an end to sarcoma. All teams and supporters made Dragonslayer a tremendous success. Team Brad received the top fundraising award, followed closely by Team Amy’s Army. Team Asher's Tribe received the Largest Team Award. Team Love is Everyone and Hayden’s Warriors received the Team Spirit Award. Team Logan's Heroes also showed an extereme amount of spirit and support.
The community proved that this is a shared fight and journey. Through community efforts, the event raised over $52,000 to end sarcoma. Smashing our goal of $42,000 for the event. Money raised from the event will be utilized for sarcoma research and the Foundation HELP$ Program.
